Deep water culture Acacallis
I ordered two Acacallis (Aganisia) seedlings. I was going to pot one in bark like my other Acacallis which is doing fantastic(first orchid I've got to spike:blushing::scratchhead:) and for the other I would like to try deep water culture or semi hydro.
I already have most of the equipment for deep water culture that I used for winter lettuce, broccoli, and green beans. So I was kinda leaning towards DWC instead of semi hydro. Does anyone have any experience using either method for Acacallis? Fertilizer types/amounts? PH? When I used DWC before I remember my PH was very unstable, but I was using organic fertilizer. The system was not a circulating reservoir system which probably didnt help. This will be a single bucket system if I go the route of DWC. Any suggestions on what method to use would be much appreciated. This is a good opportunity for me to do a side by side observation and try hydro or semi hydro. |
