:waving its not blooming but I thought it was a nice picture anyways  The 4 new growths are starting to bulb and sheath up. Bloomed earlier this year 07 03 13. I would have to rate the fragrance on these as a 10. It gets lots of light 70% shaded sun to be exact about 14 hrs a day or was. I like to keep it moist in straight orchiata bec its been so hot. Now I dont have as much sun with the weather changing getting cooler its going to have to be kept dryer. Doesnt like the leaves be left wet but enjoys a good spraying down in the hottest part of the day. The leaves are very tender but as long as they dont get too hot they wont scorch and burn. It has lots and lots of fresh air. the last blooms. I want more blooms  http://rkidkelly.smugmug.com/Flowers...5%5B1%5D-L.jpg the apples were included so we all know what apple green is :waving |

That is a well composed photo of your orchid and apples. All of the elements work very well--the objects, the light and shadows...this is one photograph I would print out and frame. The plant is lovely, BTW!
Too many photos focus on the flower--like your second photo. But rarely do people take the time and effort to display the plant. In my opinion, the plant should be featured as often as the flower--since the plant provides information on the grower's attention to culture. Your plant tells me it was grown very well--not a single blemish or spot or any defect to be seen. |
^+1 So very true Matt! RJ, you have some puurty foliage there!

Beautiful, healthy orchid. Very good growing.

this one is back too. :waving.
These are what the sheaths brought that it made last year when the foliage picks were taken. It had 4 new bulbs. Those 4 bulbs this year have turned into 9 new pups and 27 buds on 4 spikes... http://rkidkelly.smugmug.com/Flowers...DSCN7607-L.jpg goerge returns also  http://rkidkelly.smugmug.com/Flowers...DSCN7535-L.jpg I caught the lizard licking the sap off the buds. he looked very happy to soak up the sweet sugar. he might have been eating the little black ants who like the sugar too |
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful plant (and George). I just bought one of these. I hope it will perform as well as yours does. :)

The plant looks really happy and great that you've got new buds. Can't wait to see it in bloom.
