(C. bicolor x C. guttata) x Rhyncholaelia digbyana
Hi all, I recently bought this hybrid (young plant) and was wondering if anyone here has seen it before... How do the flowers look like? :scratchhead:
|
I haven't seen or found that cross but Cattleya Mrs. Mahler "Mem. Fred Tomkins" = C bicolor x C guttata. Measures, R.H. 1901
'Memoria Fred Tomkins' was awarded AM/AOS 1977 and CCM/AOS 1983. Also spelled Tompkins. ( according to Orchids - Cattleya ) If that helps .. |
Hi Dorothy,
Thanks for the tipp... funny, I knew already Cattleya Mrs. Mahler (did not know it was C. bicolor x C. guttata though...) As I mentioned, I bought the plant, because I like C. guttata and love Rhyncholaelia digbyana... it seems it could be a nice combination after all... (anyway known way to push a young plant to produce flowers whithin 1 week? ) |
Talk to it? Maybe beg :hmm
:coverlaugh: |
Jeepers Creepers! This should produce some beautiful, hopefully nicely fragrant blooms. I look forward to seeing them. Good fortune with this orchid.
