Schomburgkia, Cow Horn
 

I have received this new orchid today and come to find out it had decided to split itself..I now have 3 pieces of it, and in a week or so could possibly have one or two more. One branch even has a keki growing.

So here comes the real question would anyone like a piece once I get them good and happy again? I don't want to send anyone a sick piece.

I will only have maybe 2 or 3 pieces if all goes well. But I just don't need this many of the same orchid.

I have 3 seedling catt x schomburgkia hybrids coming in tomorrow as well so need to make some space at some point. lol.

Please message me if you would like a piece. and remember I am still new to orchids and will do my best not to kill anything.

Though I am quite proud that since joining orchid board i have not lost anything yet lol!!

I was thinking about ordering one of those, but decided I'll wait awhile before getting more plants. Then I saw a Burr. Nelly Isler at the store and it ... just ... HOPPED into my CART! =P

Well I am more than happy for 17.00 and its basically 4-5 on their own I'm ecstatic.

Schomburgkias grow much like Laelias do.

Very bright indirect light.

Moderate to high humidity.

Intermediate to warm.

Moderate to good air circulation.

If the Schomburgkia you have is what is pictured in the photo, it could be Schomburgkia tibicinis.

This particular species of Schomburgkia is rather large. Each cane-like pseudobulb will grow to be about 1 1/2' to 2' long. In spike, this orchid would end up being about 4' to 5' tall.

It is not for windowsill growing in the long run.

They shouldn't be difficult to grow.
