New green house ordered

1 Attachment(s)
Hello, During the hotter months I have been keeping my orchids on my front porch on a table. Unfortunately I am afraid they are not getting enough sun. So I will be moving them to my back porch under a moveable green house.

It will be 6ft x 8ft x 6.6 ft. I have attached the picture of it below.

Now how would I need to go about getting the humidity up more towards where it needs to be. Any suggestions for everything else green house related would be great.

I will be moving them to a indoor ext. at my Nana's house with the greenhouse for the winter to help with keeping them warm. That has been re named the jungle room since my Nana got me hooked on flowers as a small child that required being placed inside for winter. I still blame her!!

Stop blaming your poor grandmother....

Invest on a two gallon cool water electric humidifier that comes with an oscillating fan that you just replenish for 24 hrs that I do once in the mornings.
You can get it at Home Depot or WalMart.
Make sure to choose the one with an easy filter change. I put the parts inside my dishwasher and clean it once a month.
These also come in a one gallon giving out hot steam for winter that I put at 12 hrs low cycle so I just replenish water in the morning and in the evening.

Honestly she was as bad if not worse then I ever was. LOL! Okay great thank you, I think that has been an issue for a few of my orchids not having enough humidity no matter how hard I was trying.

Wow you are really going all out. I'm glad my chids will have a good home to go to ;) . You can grow ferns under the benches. Maybe buy a 50gal conainer and grow water plants and gold fish. The glass house at the NYBG has 2 ponds and they r incredibly humid.

Well we are known to get some cold spells, so I want to make sure they are okay, the extra space will go towards other tropicals who will probably bloom inside this year.

So since this is my first winter with orchids I would rather spend a little money now, rather then respending everything I have already spent because they got to cold dry and died. anddddddd in this last month that is quite a lot...

And yes they will be coming to a very happy and healthy home. I got the cool misting humidifier ordered now just the wait. I am also one of those people who either do it right and do it well or don't do it at all.

Update

My new mini green house should be here tomorrow...here's hoping I can get a few family members to help me set it up. lol.

The new humidifier also came in today so it should be nice and humid in there when everything is all ready!!

good deal! don't get over anxious and put your plants in there for a couple days....make sure the temps are right and maintained....if you put them right in it could be that it will get too hot or not enuf circulation....be very careful the first few days, and good luck!!

Thanks it is going on my back porch, where they will get plenty of air flow, and heat, and humidity. No lights wil be going in the sun will hit it all just right hopefully...
