I need recommended sites for online orchid supplies
 

Can anyone please recommend me a good site (or few) to buy supplies from? Any reputable sites with reasonable /low/free shipping to Canada would be awesome. Even better if it's based in Ontario. I am in Toronto, Ontario.

I recently ordered a pack of NZ Sphagnum moss from this site: Ravenvision, Orchid Growing Supplies for Canadians without really seeing any reviews anywhere (there wasn't anything online). The products and price seems good. But s it a good company, or I've wasted my money & time?

I don't know about shipping to Canada but here are a few sites I use. Hopefully someone can give you a Canadian orchid supply store.

If you click on a Search button on this forum and type Canada, Canadian, etc, it will bring up a list of discussions on buying orchids/supplies in Canada. Many of posts express the frustration over the lack of resources/vendors/much higher shipping prices when it comes to local Canadian market or ordering from US.

The best way to find something local or at least closer to home is to ask local orchid club re their buying practices and established connections.

USA probably a stretch to far but for the EU & UK.

Attended my first SOOS meeting a few weeks ago. Several vendors sell potting supplies - one bloke even had tree fern fibre.
Great place to meet other enthusiasts, learn and find new plants as well. Next meeting is this Sunday.

SOOS is pretty unique.

I have done a lot of speaking engagements around the US and Canada, and it is the only one that has an array of vendors at every meeting.

Of course, if other societies drew 200-250 people every meeting, that might be true at them, too.

Every meeting?!?! Wow!
