Microcoelia bulbocalcarata Warm or cool growing
 

I'm looking to purchase a Microcoelia bulbocalcarata, however IOSPE says its cool growing does anyone have experience to the contrary. It says if comes from elevations of 1680 to 1950meters.

Good luck if you can find a plant for sale these days; I was lucky to buy online from 'Botanica LTD' two years ago= I have never seen one for sale ever since…. This leafless orchid is quite rare in cultivation. Endemic to Rwanda and Uganda, they grow on trees and shrubs in the canopy of dense forest. In cultivation, an occasional root or two attaches to the mount to stabilize its growth but my plant basically thrives in moist open air. Water quality is important and New York tap water is just fine with frequent spraying is a necessity since I want to grow it well in my dry apartment environment. It used to be mounted on grape branch then cork but now my plant is happily mounted on a cypress bark from the Florida glades…. a light layer of Spanish moss (Tillasndsia usneoides) is draped over and/or around it; especially in the summer….I go easy on fertilizer with this plant since I don’t want to burn the roots but I just got to feed it=fertilizer every other week with seaweed mix alternated with worm tea mix….it is hanging on a south facing window sill and intermediate to warm temperatures completes my culture.
