Masdevallia scobina in flower
 

I initially found these flowers made me think of horses front legs and head, but I could never quite place why. In these pics they are mean in long peaked caps (very long peaked caps) :coverlaugh:

I didn't realise until this blooming, that there can be two buds per spike. The left hand flower in the picture has another bud behind it. Yet to see if that will ever open.

The second bud behind one of the flowers has grown and looks like it may well develop and open :crossfing
