Have I got Phal seed?
 

My seedpod split today. Unfortunately I think it's a dud, but I'm not totally sure so I wanted to run it past folks.

Was on a magenta supermarket noid, pollen from a mannii.

There's small amounts of what could be seed. But some pictures I've seen seem to show large amounts of stuff that looks a bit darker. My 'stuff' is the same colour as the pod's fluff and there's not a lot of it. One of the sources refers to leaving the pod to dry a few days after splitting, so I'm going to do that and see if the 'stuff' dries darker. But meanwile I'd appreciate opinions. I haven't actually got medium etc ready, so got to make a decision whether to start ordering! I'm sort of thinking probably not...

based on what I have seen before ( I have had seed and no seed too ), I'd say no. With mine the seed separated from the fluff on dehiscence.

You could try looking through a microscope or loupe...

Those little bits ARE separated from the fluff. I said they were the same colour as the fluff. I'd also look through some kind of magnification... if I had anything like that! Will have a look tomorrow to see if I can pick up something cheap LOL Thanks!

....what I meant was that the fluff behaved itself and stayed in the pod...:)....... and the seed scattered

Ah right. In my case they sort of scattered as I pulled the fluff out. LOL
