That's not a root
That's not a root is it? That thing below the spike.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-z...o/DSC_0068.JPG Just checking on my sanity. Could it be a damaged root? |
:rofl:Yes Anon, It's a damaged Root.. Can't help with your sanity, as mine is in question all the time..!
|
Actually makes me think of a damaged spike or an old spike.
|
Agree with RosieC. An old or damaged spike. It's not covered with the transparent gray green tissue of a root.
|
That's what I thought.
I got it with the bigger spike a few weeks ago and didn't notice the little one when I repotted it. Might have been there, might have not. I've never seen a secondary spike grow below an existing one so I wasn't sure. Think it will grow and bloom? |
I have a phal with spike growing right under an existing spike, will post a picture once I have 5 posts...but this one doesn't look like a spike to me.
|
Yes, Rosie is right... I've had this happen a couple times, (I broke the spike, or got damaged during shipping, cat knocked the plant over, etc) whatever the cause, it's a spike that got damaged... At least you have another spike above that one tho!
...I can't help with your sanity either, b/c like James, I also question mine from time to time  Lol |
