Hi everybody,
My name is Amy and I am researching various aspects of the international orchid industry for my PhD. I am a conservationist who has worked on orchid pollination, orchid ethnobotanical use in Asia, trees, and finally back to orchids again to look at the horticultural trade.

I don't actually grow many orchids at the moment as I am (very lucky to be) travelling a lot to visit orchid shows around the world, but maybe one day!

Some of my research focusses on the demand side of the industry and I have been interviewing a lot of hobbyists about their collections. If you don't mind I may be asking you to take part in some online experiments at some point soon (although some of you may have met me at a show and already done them in person).

Just thought it would only be polite to introduce myself first, thanks for having me!
