Can Growmore Bromeliad fertilizer be used on orchids?
 

I have airplants and just found Growmore Bromeliad fertilizer 17-8-22. And I was wondering since it doesnt have any urea, could I possibly use this fertilizer on my orchids as well? i know a balanced fertilizer would be more preferred but its the only urea free fertilizer ive been able to find

I think provided you get the right dilution rate it would be fine, that might be different for orchids than for bromeliads (I don't know).

Ray who made the calculator now uses a lower rate however the rate given by this calculator isn't too high for most orchids provided you flush regularly. (I currently fertilise based on the results from this calculator).

I've used it for orchids @ 1/2 tsp per gallon. The N-P-P ratio is similar to some if the better orchid fertilizers. I think it lacks a couple of the micro-nutrients the orchid fertilizer has, but if using with tap water, that shouldn't be a problem. I was happy with it ...
