Memo to my Orchids
 

I am giving notice to my Masdevallias, Lepanthes, my PNG dens to move in a positive direction. I am tired of all the drama, your sulking, your whining about the weather. As I plan to acquire more Neo’s, it has occurred to me that real estate here is expensive and I have a bunch of orchids not performing! :((

And “I didn’t do anything bad” is no longer good enough nor is being a species. Just look at that NoID catt, look at all those new roots and growth!

Just look to the Neos as examples. They don’t fuss, they just quietly grow roots and fans, don’t complain about the weather, understand that I can’t pamper them 24/7/365, they forgive me my neglect.

And don’t glare at beni-kaede! She’s developmentally slow but still producing roots and a leaf.

Podangis, Aerangis, Asco, just because you’re related doesn’t mean you get a pass. I’m keeping my eyes on you.

As for the rest of you, as you were.

I think I need this memo for some of mine too!

And this is no idle threat. I don't plan on replacing those I called out. A heart can only be broken so many times by the same thing.

With Mouses permission I will copy, insert my Orchids genera and read the memo to them daily! :lol:

The corporation will just have to make do....check with upper management regarding this 'memo' since the middle management has no say at all....

This management handles operations and budget. If higher authority wants to keep pumping money into non-performers, they will have to increase my budget for operational space, capital equipment and therapy sessions (perhaps it can be taken out of executive golden parachutes).

Now, now, you get more with honey than with vinegar. Perhaps if there was some kind of reward or bonus system you'd be able to motivate those little guys to work harder.

For those genuinely troublesome ones though it doesn't hurt to threaten them with the boot. Literally. :)
