I knew this would happen, phal hasn't bloomed
 

My first phal.. This is the risk I took buying it knowing if I'll ever get it to re-bloom again. I did some research and tried to put it under stress, potting it nearby a 50° window at night, I tried putting it next to a window with less light do basically trying to stress it out.. Nothing.. Instead it said screw this I'm puttting out new roots and new baby leaf.. Perhaps its a fall bloomer? I got it in end of august and it was in bloom :/ I'm scared I'm never gonna get this phal and others to bloom again.
P.s. Could it also be that it's not pot bound?

If it just finished blooming in August when you bought it - I think it is too early to be disappointed yet
Even though normally phals would bloom at least once a year, it could have a small set back adjusting to your environment which could delay a bit the normal cycle.
The fact that a new leaf and roots are growing - is a good sign, plant will be stronger and will bring more blooms when it is ready to do so.
Drop in the night temps is a good trick and works for me but at the same time I have my phals in very high light during the day.

Less light location wouldn't do any good for blooming in my opinion.
Also 50 F might be too extreme for phals, I usually try to make sure they don't get lower than 63-65 F.

I'll say this bluntly, but hopefully not disrespectfully...

Stop tricking your orchid into blooming, just honestly grow an orchid and you will see how effortless it is to re-bloom a healthy orchid.

I have re-bloomed several orchids many times without trying to "trick" them into blooming.

Your Phal will re-bloom provided it is alive and healthy, give it time.

If this one is a fall bloomer, I wouldn't expect for it to spike until summer. Many Phals spike in fall.
Some at other times. If you've had this less than a year, I'd just be patient. :)

alright, i've just been reading around that all phals spike in spring and sometimes spike in fall. I shall be patient! =]

An apartment has its own climate. what blooms in one place can bloom at some other time elsewhere. some stuff blooms for me some never bloomed. If you keep changing the conditions probably it will never bloom. There is a Chinese tailor near me on Graham ave. He blooms and fruits Oranges, blooms Dendrobiim kingianum in a 8" pot and other stuff and he seems to just let his plants be. his storefront is not even that bright.

Have you repotted this phal? If you have, my experience has been that most of the phals that I have purchased are planted in moss. When I have repotted them in a some what course bark mixture, the plants seem to go through a adjustment period and actually grew quite a few new roots before they bloomed again.
