Sharry Baby in hydroton...bark maybe?
Hi everyone,
I have a Sharry Baby that I've had for years that just finished blooming (first time it bloomed). I have it growing in hydroton and I'm wondering if I should change to bark. There are many aerial roots, should I cut some of them off? I had it outside last summer and it developed black dots on the leaves, I have read that onc. tend to do this. Is this correct? Thanks, Karen |
If it's already in hydroton why not go the other direction and put it in semi-hydro when it starts growing new roots from a new shoot? Sharry Baby has done really well for me in SH.

There's no reason to cut off aerial roots.
Yes, Oncidiums are often prone to spots in foliage. It could be potted in small fir bark mix, if you have a preference for that. |
