Piperia candida
Very similar to the the rather common Alaskan Piperia, Piperia unalascensis, but with white flowers. These were photographed in the Greenwater area north of Mount Rainier.

really cute, I love pictures of wild orchids
The thrill of finding them and seeing them in the wild is hard to describe, Hannah. Thanks.
That is a cute one! The name caught my eye...so close to Piper, as in piper nigrum, one of my plants. Great photography, as always!
Thanks, Leaf. This used to be included in the genus, Platanthera, but has now been separated from that along with a number of other species.
Nice!
Thanks, Sonya. Wish everyone could see these in situ!
I don't think I had ever heard of these before. Excellent pics as always.
The Piperias are all now reclassified as Platantheras and this one as Platanthera ephemerantha.
So they separated them just to clump them back together. Hahaa!! I love science. Always willing to admit mistakes.
