Orchids in Bloom: Dresslerella caesariata

"Weirdness" couldn't describe it any better. I've never seem a fuzzy orchid before. What does the whole plant look like?

Cheers.
Jim

There's a picture of several whole leaves and the flower at the link above, Jim.

:yikes: hehe Very cool!

ronaldhanko 03-06-2013 04:40 PM

It does look a bit like something that might eat you.

Tindomul 03-06-2013 05:08 PM

Like I said on Flikr, very nice!

ronaldhanko 03-06-2013 05:10 PM

Thanks, Tindo.

That's very interesting. I imagine the "hairs" are used to catch moisture from the air, like dew.
How long have you had this plant? It's pretty incredible.

I can't wait for my Pleurothallids to bloom.

Hi Liana,
I've had the plant quite a few years but it was just a tiny piece that languished for a long time before finally taking off
