Cattleya amethystoglossa seasons

This is a first-bloom plant of my favorite cattleya species, and even though there are only two blooms, the shape is pretty decent, so no complaints. And this is the first of numerous C. amethystoglossas in my collection that are all beginning their bloom cycles, so I'm pretty pleased.

Steve,
Another one of favorites! This is a good first bloom for sure. Do you know the parentage of this one?

According to RF Orchids, it's a selfling of Orchidglade AM/AOS. Normally I would much rather prefer an outcross instead of (whether it's warranted or not, I tend to be rather suspicious of selfling and sib-cross plants); however, this one turned out better than I anticipated. My only gripe is that it had to reach nearly three feet in height before it bloomed, whereas my other amethystoglossas had their first blooms at just a little over half that height (still, all things considered, that's only a very minor negative in my opinion).

Wow! Spectacular!

The spots have texture, as if someone painted them on.

Nice Steve. I am curious about blooming size for this species, how tall is your plant?
