Artificial lighting

Hi, I just installed a 400 watt 6000 k metal halide globe in my orchid house. I mainly have the light sensitive Angreacums. The closest pant is approx. 1.5 meter from the light source. My question: is there any chance of eg UV damage to the plants du to over exposure?

Someone on this or another forum had problems with water hitting a metal halide lamp that made the outer glass burst while the lamp still was functional. Resulting in badly burned orchids.

Well in that case - installing the metal halide globe seems like such an easy answer to all my light issues (I hope). I have light hungry Dendrobiums mixed with shade loving Angreacums, and now it seems that I can keep them side by side under the same light intensity(?) PS. thnx for the pics David
