Should I repot my Orchid?

Two months ago, I changed the potting material in my Orchid, and it is looking great. However, now I have three roots that are exposed and not inside the pot. Should I report it?

Thanks

Hector

Phalaenopsis make aerial roots. If your think about how they grow in nature - on trees with the roots proving anchorage , it isn't so surprising that they make aerial roots searching for nutrients. mositure and stability.

So your plant is doing what id does naturally and it is growing new roots which is terrific! There is no need to repot until the roots outgrow the pot and/or the aerial roots become huge.

Suggest your mist the exposed roots so that they can full fill their unction for bringing in more nutrients, and celebrate your happy orchid.

Thanks for the response Carrie. How often do you recommend misting the roots?

Hector,
I'm afraid I'm not too good at saying how often. Whenever you feel like it/remember to do it. I'm afraid I don't run a very tight ship :)

I mist mine every morning, this way I know the crowns have time to dry out before its start to get cool at night

Myself, not a fan of misting Phal roots - only because you end up adding moisture to the media - and I've killed too many Phals with root rot :p Of course, if you are in a cold climate with heat on round the clock, and as such have extremely low humidity 24/7, it may be advisable to do so ...
