Black Spots on Phal
3 Attachment(s)
I just bought a new phal and noticed that it has a few black spots on the underside of a few leaves. The spots are small, and there are only five or so, but if it is a problem I want to be sure to take care of it as soon as possible. Attached a pictures and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The spots might be a minor baterial, possibly developed from water droplets left on the leaves. I'd touch them with alcohol and check periodically to make sure they don't spread. Have you checked the roots yet? Sorry, I don't know what's your experience with the Phals but just to be on the safe side. It's recommended to check the roots ASAP after you bring the plant home. Almost 100% of them are packed in a wet or dried to the bone moss which dramatically affects the roots. Most of the time, Phal needs to be repotted and monitored closely for at least a month. If you're not sure how to proceed with the unpotting/repotting, we could help. Happy growing! Lilia |
It is being kept seperate from all other plants for now. The roots all look really healthy, nice and green. I bought it from a local orchid show in town today. I can try alcohol for sure and see if that helps. I have not repotted any of my orchids yet, when they are done blooming that is my next big project. I just got started a year ago, but lots of success so far! They can be kind of addicting
