Possibly one is mislabeled or they may be highly variable seedlings. There are some intermedia photos on Orchidwiz that have the splash petals like the first photo. The only photo of Lc. Floralia's Azul in OW is pale lavendar with a blue lip. Hard to say why for sure and one could have an incorrect label too.

They are both nice tho.

Thank you Silken- i like the White one.
Thats all i can think of too, that they somehow put a wrong Label in-or maybe- at the Show somebody thought this would be a funny Thing to do :(

I think sometimes people are just careless and shove the tags back anywhere without paying attention. Unthinkable, but I am sure some people do that.

I disagree that your white flower is likely mislabeled. Your two flowers are within the range of possible results of this hybrid. Floralia's Azul is a bluish C. walkeriana hybrid, and the C. intermedia used for this cross is likely the aquinii (splash petal) variety. The white flower exhibits pelorism in the shape of the petals, if not the color. This kind of hybrid, with very different parents, will yield a wide range of results. If you aren't a risk-taker, and can't accept disappointment along with elation, you may want to stick to purchasing mericlones instead of seedlings.

Have to agree with msaar. I see no reason to doubt that these are 2 seedlings from the same pod. There are pics on the 'net of this cross with light lavendar petals, or colored lips without flared petals, all within normal variation.

Thank you very much for your input Msaar and PaphMadMan. I am not dissapointed that they look different.I was just surprized that they where, even while they both have the same Name.I know 0 about parentage of Orchids. Mostly i just grow and enjoy....and thrilled that i get them to bloom.:)
I just want to make sure-if-and when -they get bigger and i wanted to enter them in a Show ,that i have the right Names.Thank you again.
