Mini Phal Mounting Experiment
Hi all, I was thinking about a few miniature phalaenopsis...since my old orchids are doing great in the environment I have provided them Can anybody suggest a few mini phals on what should be a good start?
I stay in Bangalore in India where the temperature ranges between 90F and 70F with enough humidity. |
Welcome to OB, The only mini phals that I have mounted are noid I mounted them on cork with a little sphagnum moss to help hold moisture in, there growing new roots but no new leaves yet
|
:welcomeflowers: I don't do so well with Phals, so will let others suggest some ;)

Try Phal parishii, Phal lobbii, Phal braceana, Phal wilsonii, Phal taenialis, Phal honghenensis, Phal lowii, Phal lindenii, or maybe Phal gibbosa if you're feeling a bit more confident.
Phal appendiculata is generally very difficult to grow properly over a long period of time. However, they do better when grown mounted, but they are definitely not for beginners. |
