Cycnodes?

I bought some phals off someone and we was kind enough to throw an extra plant in for me as a freebie, Cycnodes 'Wine Delight'. I've googled but I'm having trouble finding much in the way of cultural information for this one. Is anyone able to shed any light on what sort of substrate and conditions it needs? So far all I've worked out is that it is deciduous and to keep in on a similiar schedule to my Thunia and put it up and dry over winter.

Sunset Valley Orchids has some good information on their site. The AOS also has some good information. I am new with these and I found the two sites very useful. I don't have the links but hopefully someone else does. Good luck! The Wine Delight is one that I had on my wish list for a while and was happy to find. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, I've just been reading the sunset valley page. So I think I need to put it into a more water holding media. I have some coarse coconut coir chips or sphagnum moss. Anyone have any thoughts?

Warm to hot temperatures, when in active growth lots of water and regular feeding, bright indirect light, good air movement, eventually insecticide and acarizide. When leaves have dropped a rest period of 2-3 month in wintertime with decided reduced watering, without fertilizer. In short words just like many Catasetums and related genera. Lots of information here in the Stanhopeinae/Catasetinae alliance forum.

That sounds like a perfect mix.
