Encyclia osmantha - two clones
 

This Brazilian Encyclia species is wonderfully perfumed to say the less. I always wait for this time of the year just to smell it as many times as I can:biggrin: ! I'm posting two clones, the first two photos show the regular species and the last two a better shaped flower with a distinct, almost completely white lip (the normal being three or four striped in the center).

Really nice plant. Still reminds me of E. tampensis.

Fragrant? :hmm

Perhaps the flatter shape of the second one may be more desirable to some, but I like the shape and the color in the lip of the first one. If choices like this were the hardest ones we had to make , wouldn't life be grand!

Kim, that's what makes life so vibrant and full of possibilities, the fact that some prefer the red, others the green, others the white....

Yes, Dorothy, this species is extremely fragrant during the day and part of the night! My wife says it smells like honey. I can partially agree with that, I think that it has a little bit of something else that makes it very sweet!
