Phal always in bloom or bud.

Phal Dragon's Gold '24K' has been an amazing orchid. It had blooms on it for nine months last year and it always has either blooms or buds. It blooms in the spring like any normal phal and then it continues to produce buds on the end of the old spikes. About every three months new flowers open. After the first flowers fade it has two or three new flowers on each spike through the rest of the year.

Then in the winter and spring it reblooms with more flowers on last year's spikes (that's what you see now. New flowers on 18 month old spikes) and also new spikes are produced. You can see three new spikes that have not yet bloomed.

I looked up its parentage. Does it have a scent ? I don't really like yellow phals but this one is special.

That's great that it blooms so long! And is so gorgeous too, the white center is very nice.

I have a Phal Noid like that. Bought it 4 years ago, and it's been in pretty much constant bud/bloom since. I think the longest break it took was 4 months.

No it doesn't have a fragrance. I agree there's nothing special about a yellow phalaenopsis except for the fact that it's almost always blooming.

Great orchid to have!
Love phals like this that constantly bloom. :waving

I have a pinky one which won't stop flowering. It currently has 3 'older' spikes(which never go brown) and a new one growing. It needs repotting but haven't dared as yet.. as last time I did this to a phal which flowered and flowered (2 years ago) It died ...( I'd had it 5 years.)and I had repotted it previously... just need to get on and Just DO It...but I have been holding back!:blushing:

I have a NoID that has been in constant bloom since I bought it in February last year. Unfortunately it suffers from something, so I think I'll have to throw it away. I've tried treating it by cutting of the affected parts and treat the cut areas with cinnamon, but this, what ever it is, keep coming back on the newest leaves. Soon, it won't have any whole leaves left. :(
