Orchid size limit for transfering to s/h?

What is the size of the biggest orchid have you transferred into s/h successfully?

Trying to figure out what will happen to a large orchid when all the roots die off and only have few roots from a new growth to support a large sinking ship.

It may still be too early to call it a success but its transitioning really well...my phal gigantea. It's a full 28 inch tip to tip.

I have a couple of large plants in SH. I have a 10" potted oncidium sharry baby - which is doing spectacular. I, too, also just repotted two large phal. gigantea into SH and so far so good!

I have transferred A couple of large Cyms into Sem-Hydro last year 5 gallon pots, and they are doing great and in spike this year.
