Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Bluebird'
1 Attachment(s)
Several of my vandaceous genera are currently budding up. Among the first to open are my 'Bluebirds;' one with a single inflorescence and the other with two. They are growing in plastic net baskets with just a bit of coconut husk to keep the media (lava rock) from falling through the basket.

Beautiful. I have one that is still growing, but should be blooming size soon. Can't wait!

Fabulous! :wtg:

Thank you, Carrie, Sonya & Silken. I really enjoy these little 'chids. They take up little space and provide a nice reward.

Very nice!

Many thanks for the kind comments, folks.

Really pretty blooms and robust-looking plants. How often do these bloom for you? Do they have any of the fragrance of the neofinetia parent?

Glad you like them, Steve. In my conditions they are annual bloomers that have begun to spike as early as September but most often in October and are open by December. I do have another that did not spike until November and is just budding up now. They do have a very light fragrance but I can't determine if it is from the Neofinetia falcata or Rhy coelestis parent, not having either one in my collection at this time.
