my leaves have gone floppy
Hi,
I have a phalaenopsis orchid that was doing really well, but now one of the bottom leaves has gone floppy and is a little wrinkled, :help. I dont know if I over watered it or if it is just dropping off an old leaf, or if I have something else going on. If any one knows what is going on, I would appreciate it. :thanx: |
Well, it is probably either under watering or over watering; or was the leaf damaged in any way? Can you inspect the roots? Is it in a clear plastic pot? You will need to determine if the roots are OK.
Is it the bottim-most leaf? It may be just shedding the old leaf. Or there could be a root issue... best to check them...
Hi whiterabbit is there a way to check the roots without taking it out of the pot. Because I was looking at them without taking them out of the pot and for the most part they looked good but there was one root that did not look great. :blushing:
Is it in a clear pot? How long have you had it, and have you ever repotted it? What type of media is it potted in? Can you post pix?
Whiterabbit if you want I can try to post pics but I have looked at the roots and they look good, so I think it is just dropping off an old leaf :) But maybe you can tell me why my phal has four stems, I have only seen them with two but this one has four. Is this normal :scratchhead:
Some Phals can get 3 or 4 spikes

ohh, thanks that helps me alot.
