{The Huntington Gardens and Library Part 1}
10 Attachment(s)
Today, I visited the grand gardens and art collections for a second time. If you don't know what the Huntington is, its a large botanical garden with an enourmous library and a huge art gallery. The founder and owner, Henry E. Huntington was especially intrested in rare books, art, and flowers. The 120 acre area is so extraordinary that I only got through half of the area! It holds some of the rarest books in the entire world and some of the best art there is to date. I will have to split my visit into a few parts. Here are pictures with descriptions:
Attachment 74753 A ginko tree against a crystal clear sky. Attachment 74754 This is a tidier hybrid of the Giant Bamboo. It doesn't ramble as much and has the exact same properties as normal Giant Bamboo, making it perfect for a large garden. Attachment 74755 Believe it or not, this is actually an aloe species, not a tree. Attachment 74756 A qick front view of the palm gardens. Attachment 74757 This is the famous library. It was off limits due to renovation. Attachment 74758 The European art galleries. Attachment 74759 The Shakesphere Gardens, containing the plants found in his literature. Attachment 74760 A cute little mornarch caterpillar. Attachment 74761 I saw this odd iris and decided to take a picture of it. Does anyone know this variety? Attachment 74762 My absolute favorite part of the gardens, the greenhouse. TO BE CONTINUED.... |
I'll be there next week during my CA Vacation!
