My Lonely Noid Cym

I got this one in bloom this year and here it is now after all summer long in the corner. That's his corner yes. Its gets a lot of bright shaded light and Im thinking maybe it needed more. ? It has 2 new fine looking growths and Ive managed to keep all the old bulbs foliage in tact. The plants grow much better when all the parts are intact. Ive learned that the hard way pulling stuff off that was unsightly only to find out the plant was still pulling nutrients from them. This is the only one I have bec I wanted to make sure I didnt kill another one these 50 dollar plants. I think Im over the cym hump. Now to get some blooms :waving

Thank you all for being so kind and keeping me interested. Its been a long growing year and successful results come in many different forms. :bowing

Nice! Yes, those unattractive backbulbs do serve a purpose - I've removed some from my Cyms this year, but all were still big plants.

Most Cyms need a cold spell to bloom. I leave mine outside overnight until almost November to ensure that they get their cold dose. I leave them out until the night temps are into the low 40s (F). May need to do some research to see if yours needs the same. Good Luck. It looks healthy!

Sometimes it is hard to tell the true color of leaves when photos are posted, but your leaves appear to be quite a dark green. I suspect you are not giving the plant enough direct sunlight. "Bright shaded light" is generally not adequate, especially if it is under a covered structure. Morning sun, afternoon shade for growing outdoors in most climates is the best way to go, if you can.
