ID confirmation, is it Dendrobium chrysotoxum
2 Attachment(s)
:D After the great help with one of my neighbour Brians orchid ID's , I am asking again . But this time I think I know what it is .. BUT I am no expert :_(
He has several plants of this spread around the garden . Some in full sun , nestled in a large Drynaria fern , and some tied to a Citrus tree . I see some nice little keikis that will be ready for me when the wet season starts . :photo: |
Well whatever it is, it's really prety!
|
Long canes that get thinner at the top? If yes, looks like Dend. fimbriatum type for me. Take a look at http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-oculatum.html for comparison, just don't take into account the dark stain of this variety.

It looks like it could be chrysotoxum - IOSPE PHOTOS

It looks like the blooms of Den. chrysotoxum which has fusiform pseudobulbs with 5-6 leaves on them.
|
Stems are long and thin , with narrow dark green leaves.
So maybe Mauro has pointed me in the right direction by suggesting Den fimbruiatum.. thank you . |
When I saw the flowers, I said it sure looks like chrysotoxum to me but after your description of the canes and leaves, they do not fit chrysotoxum that has about 8 to 12 in. thick, stout looking canes with broad thick leaves of about 6 in.
