Really nice, lots of pretty colours.

Thanks! My son uploaded them for me! I take the pictures, but don't know how to get them from all the files on the computer, or the camera! I have a few more to post :)

Very nice blooms! do I see a Zygopetalum in one photo?

Phalchid 10-29-2012 11:16 AM

Yes, my only zygopetalum! Love the fragrance! One question though. When I tried to repot it in the spring, the medium was so tightly wrapped in roots that all I could do was put it in a slightly bigger pot and add more bark. Do you think that's okay? The plant seems to be doing well right now :)

I only have one Zygo so don't know for sure. If the media didn't seem real broken down it should be fine. These guys have fairly massive root systems and do need a larger pot than most orchids for their plant size. Mine came in pure NZ sphagnum moss in a large net pot and when I re-potted it, I replaced it with fresh NZ sphag and put into a larger net pot. It seems happy and bloomed well and now has two new growths.
