Oh, I've seen this one before. Or at least something that looks a lot like it. But I can't even make a suggestion as to what kind of orchid it is.

Double oh! You're from SA. Well, then I might have seen it in the orchid catalogue of van Rooyen or something like that. Where did you buy it? You can have a look at their web page and see if you find a hit: ORCHIDSSA

It's so cute! I love it. Would like to know the name as well. Then I might just put it on my list the next time I get something from SA. :D

Thanks Silje you put me on the right track and managed to find the name, I bought it from another vendor in the same area as Van Rooyens. I bought the plant because it was so cute, the name is a Cochleanthes discolor and it looks like a regular bloomer.

I used to have one of these and if I remember correctly it smelled like pepper.

What is the name of that vendor? I'm looking for someone that would be interested in exporting small scale. I know it's a hassle with the phytosanitary certificates and the testing and the paperwork, but it's so hard to find anything else than NOID phals and oncs in Namibia, there's just no other alternative if you want to build up a collection.
