Cycnodes Wine Delight
 

Can anybody give me some cultural information on Cycnodes? I recently bought a Cycnodes Wine Delight at a show. It has just finished flowering, has two psuedobulbs and is planted in a tiny plastic pot, very pot bound with roots growing out of the base of the pot. There doesn't seem to be much potting media in it. Will it grow in a bark mixture? If so, should I use a fine, course or medium size mixture? Clay or plastic pot?

Plastic and miss dies the trick for me. Grow it like a Catasetum, including the no watering period from Thanksgiving on and you should be good. Look at the AOS culture sheet for Catasetums.
