I collect Cattleytonias and when I saw this one at Lowes last spring, hanging in one of those net bags, I had to buy it. The second plant is also a miniature and is Lc. Netrasiri (spelled Faibell) but I think it should be Fireball x Thihty 'Casen's Choice'

They're both beautiful! I think the last one is my favorite.

They are both beautiful, but I really LOVE the second one. I wish we could buy orchids like that in the stores here. But, then I would be tempted more often. I have to track orchids down and have them mailed most of the time.

You're right... the Lc Netrasiri should be "Fireball." I just bought the same cross you have, and mine was spelled Lc Netrasiri 'Faiball' x Thihty 'Casen's Choice'. I can't find a picture of Thihty 'Casen's Choice' anywhere one the web, but "Fireball" is sort of a waxy mauve flower that seems to be all one color.

At any rate, I think the two make a gorgeous cross together. Mine actually looks like it's on fire... and the fragrance is absolutely AMAZING!!

I do vote that, for such a gorgeous plant, it should get a better name than that awkward cross. Someone register this flashy beauty with an appropriately flashy name, please! :-)

Oh, and considering you got yours as a bag baby from Lowe's, I am now completely convinced I paid about three times as much as I should have for mine at a nursery. Ah, well... I do love it!
