Plant Segment Descriptors
When reading descriptions of plants, often in the process of trying to identify a species, we will often come across terms like "terete" leaves, or "oblanceolate" petals.
What in the world does that mean????
Believe it or not, there is a whole standard for plant symmetry descriptors, based upon dimensional mathematical ratios and the surrounding forms, for both planar (2-dimensional) and solid shapes.
