black freckles on oncidium leaves...
 

noticed these black freckles on the leaves of my oncidium...what are they?

The same things as on this one. As they age these appear and I heard they are a fungus but not to worry.

Oncidiums are known for their unsightly leaves. I am trying a new approach to prevent the spots. Better plant nutrition (I am dissolving a little Ironite into my water along with the fertilizer), a little less light, being careful not to get water on the leaves, using fungicide, and to use room temperature water are all recommended. I am doing everything but the fungicide.

thats too much coddling for me, i just let them happen and consider it a hazard of growing onc...

Mine has got them as well on an old leave, but since they don't seem to affect the plant, I don't worry about them.
