Greetings from Minnesota
Hello, I'm Ehren and I consider myself a rookie orchid grower. I have about 25 orchids, about half large and half miniature. I also grow ferns and aroids. I used to have a mounted bromeliad collection, but those and many ferns were lost in a housefire.
I love growing epiphytic plants, as they allow much more freedom in display. I consider gardening my creative outlet. Ideally I would like to someday start selling my work, especially now as I need to divide plants and don't have as much room as I'd like. |
:hello and :welcome: to OB. Glad you found us. Lots of useful information here, and great members

:welcomeflowers: Glad you found us!
I too have started to divide some of my orchids - need to find homes for some. |
I'm actually dividing my Aroids, my orchids aren't taking up too much space yet. If you need space to put some of yours, I've got some available.

Still working on repotting, so we'll see what's what in a while - what kind of orchids do you like? What types of aroids do you grow? We had a thread here somewhere for aroids - was quite active for a while, but I haven't seen it in a while. |
I have several Philodendrons. Some anthurium, one spathiphylum, zantedeschia, diffenbachia (one of them actually had quite a bit of trouble differentiating after a pruning, interesting growth pattern now). I'm grabbing a monstera from Wal-mart next week, and with the help of the Minnesota Zoo I'm replacing a Philodendron Bipinnatafinnidum that was lost in a house fire.a,
And I'm open to any type of orchid. I have 3 bulbophyllum, 5 dendrobium, 2 cattleya, 2 phals, 1 very large paphiopedilum, 4 oncidium, 1 rhynostachylis, and a handful of miniatures. I prefer orchids with interesting growth habits, though, as the majority of the year they won't be blooming. I'd love to get some pendant cane orchids, as well as some that would form a mat. I'd love a brassavola, a cyprepedium, a leafless one, or a Calypso. |
Welcome to Orchidboard :welcomeflowers:
