Some July blooms

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to take pics and share some of my blooming plants with you!

Haraella odorata
Got it as a TC to the spring project plant, and it has 5 spikes, 2 of which are blooming. Nice citrusy fragrance, though it's a chemical like. My previous plant smelled like real lemons.

Phal Fantasy Musick (Micro Nova x equestris)
It's the half sister of Phal Mini Mark, which is why they look so similar.

Miltonidium Rosy Sunset
I got this as a plug plant 3 years ago I think, and it grows like a weed! It had 6 spikes over the winter, and made another large one now. I also discovered, thank to this plant, that Oncs can make side spikes! I accidently snapped a second spike, and a new spike appeared from the node beneath the break. It looks like it will be small, but better than nothing!

Oh well done! So much color and snap, no pun intended. :).

Very nice blooms! I really like the interesting shape of the Haraella but they are all nice.

Wow~ what a colorful display and nice fragrance I can imagine!!! :)

I've never seen your first one, but citrusy smell is always nice, especially in the heat of summer!

I love the cute mini phal of yours. I have been on the lookout for something similar, but no luck yet.
My mini phals has been in blooming for a long time, but in the past, I've had bad luck killing every single mini phals I bought. then I eventually stopped buying them anymore. I now have one mini phal, which grow (well, actually it hasn't really grew much, just one leaf over the winter and now sending up another one) and bloom very very well. :)

The leaves on your rosy sunset look very clean and nice. Can you post a close up picture of a leaf or leaves so I can have a better look?

The reason I'm asking you this favor is that I bought one myself last fall, and as much as I love the flowers and wonderful scent, the leaves just looked so terrible to me and I just threw it away. I really think it was virused.

I saw a much larger one at a show earlier in the spring and I got hooked and bought a second rosy sunset. The leaves looked much better but still show these irregular lighter patches and spots. It is currently out of bloom and throwing four new growths that seem to do poorly, but just concerned about the leaves and would love to compare how yours look.

Sure I can take a pic. I just have to remember to bring my camera to work, that's where I keep that plant! The leaves are a nice even green, with only a few brown spots here and there. I do have another plant, Miltonia Sunset, which looks like it's virused. If the markings on it aren't characteristic of virus, I don't know what is! A shame, because I really really wanted that plant. I'll hang on to it (separate from the other plants) until I get a replacement.

Too bad I'm not in the US, or else I would have sent you a division of mine to replace yours.

Wow~ people at work will really appreciate the wonderful scent of that plant then! :)

Yeah, mine has these lighter green patches all over, although no yellow streaks like the last one I had.
I paid so much for this one (everything at the show was waaaay overpriced, but it had 7-8 spiked and smelled so nice). I fonud a online store where it is sold at much lower price, but I'm getting tired of these oncidium plants with sick looking leaves. hmmm

And I got mine for free! It was a gift at the Dutch orchid society's annual show, they were handing out plugs to all the visitors. They do that every year. I'm gotten a yellow Onc Twinkle type, and the Propetalum Mathina which died...And yes, my colleagues next to me really like the scent of Rosy Sunset. At first they were wondering where it was coming from, and one was shocked to learn it was the orchid! Now half the open space can admire my Psychopsis, which is on my desk, blooming on a 2ft spike!

Lucky you!

Another nice thing about Rosy Sunset flower is that the flower has this sheen to it, not quite overally waxy but it's there in the right light, although it does go away as flowers age. I like that.

By the way, I will start a thread about the leaf spotting. I just don't like it when people come and hijack a thread with unrelated topic, so :)

I don't mind! In a thread where someone asks questions then hijacks can be bothersome, but when it's just to show some flowers, it doesn't really matter as much. At least as far as I'm concerned!

Ok, I posted some pictures. didn't want to ruin your beautiful flower pictures with my sick leaves shot.
