Vanda leaf yellowing
One of the lower vanda leaf has turned yellow and I think it may eventually fall off.
Is this normal? Or am I doing something not right? Thanks for your help. Buds! |
Well... it could be old age, could be some problem... need to see how the rest of plant is to really know.

If the photo's the same, I think it's alright, maybe it is like what shakkai said, reacting to the change in environment. Do continue to look out for rots or any problems though.
You might want to ensure that it doesn't stay at temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius, not really good as strap-leaf Vandas prefer temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius. |
Buds,
When you say your misting ... what are you misting daily? The leaves, the roots? I agree, I think you vanda would like it to be warmer. Mine was hanging from a basket like yours, Now in a vase like yours, LOL. I'm doing the same thing as far as the watering goes that I did when it was just hanging - I soak it once per day for about 1 hour. Ive also got 1 leaf that will drop off soon, I'm not worry since It's older growth and roots are forming in the same area. |

Thanks for your post! I am just having a bad week, the vanda with the leaf turning yellow didn't help. I am misting the roots nearly everyday. I think I am not watering enough, half of the older leaves are wrinkled and a bit leathery. The younger leaves are healthy looking. I will now soak it maybe once every two days and everyday in summer when it gets really hot and dry here! Keep us posted on your vanda!:D Buds! |

Welcome! Just keep trying, I'm still finding a good medium for my phalaenopsis :P
|
My phals are all in s/h, they are all loving it.
I bought 2 mature phals the other day, they came in coconut husk, I am not sure about converting them. I am not good at watering...:dumb: |
