Lycaste Repotting

Greetings group - I have a Lycaste that I purchased in bud. Right now there is one flower out and two buds growing and a new growth that is about 3" tall and growing. Issue is that the pot is full and the new growth will be growing pretty much outside the pot as it matures. Since it has a flower and two additional flower stems growing I don't want to pot it now, but am wondering if it will be too late to report it by the time the flowers are done. Any suggestions? (it's a Macrophyllum). thx!

When I grew lycaste' I potted them in the spring before the new roots were very long on the new growths (less than 1/4 inch long). Lycaste don't like to have their hair mussed up. I would take them out of the pot, let the media just fall off and repot. They do not cotton to getting very dry nor do they like to be wet. Moist is good. They like an airy mix. I used fine bark (1/4 inch), perlite, charcol, and a little cut up spagnum moss (1/2 to one inch long) in the mix. That allowed for good drainage but yet retained enough moisture for good health. Again I used the "lift to feel how heavy the pot is" method of judging when to water. I know that lycaste don't like wet soggy roots and will die quickly if kept too wet. When the pleated leaves fall off in the fall, water very sparingly, if at all.
