Beautiful noid 'leopard prince' phal
Here it is, my beloved noid that resembles Drtps. leopard prince. I have wanted this type of phal for just about ever and now I have finally got one :D. I think that because she is so pretty, only a special vase will do. I have potted her media free into a vase so that she can be adored in her entirety.

Beautiful. Its got the leopard form but it is a hybrid by looking at the lip and petal shapes. Just make sure you follow the vase culture for Phals...I guess you have to water more often ...

you are right...look at the color of the root...then you need to soak it for 10 min in water or water with fertilizer...then empty the vase of liquid...
|
That's just what I thought Bud, thanks for clearing that up for me. My Vanda is a little dehydrated so I need to water it in the vase everyday, the leaves started to go a little yellow so I panicked but apparently they just need to hydrate and settle in.

invest in a digital humidity/temperature monitor, its only cheap and battery operated. so you can be perfectly sure that your plant is receiving proper care for vandas and Phals...make sure it doest go below 50% humidity in its area

I've got a humidifier, it isn't digital though but it does the job. Today and actually the last few days have been in the 60-70s. My phals have always done really well in my bedroom regardless of temp. My Vanda is another matter as I have only just got it but as it is a coerulea I can go a bit lower at night.

that is right, trust your instincts: you are a natural windowsill orchidgrower...my coerulea is in vase culture and it had established itself on the east facing window of my bathroom...it can take 55F in winter and up to 105F in summer...but I make sure it constantly get 80F in the day indoors and 65F at night
in the summer give them bright shaded light to compensate for the dark winters good luck and happy growing |
Thanks fior the great info Bud. I appreciate it. I will make sure that I follow your good advice.
