Brown Leaf Tips.
 

Hello, this is my first post. I have two plants that appear to be getting some sort of infection on the tips of their leaves. One is a Hawkinsara Koolau Sunset 'Hawaii' and the other is a Paphiopedilum Prime Child. The Hawkinsara has a total of four out of eight leaves infected, all on more recent growths, while the Paphiopedilum has 3 out of four older leaves infected. the Hawkinsara has been in my possession for approx. 3 weeks, and has been re-potted within the last 2 & 1/2, while for the Paphiopedilum, only one week and has not needed re-potting-I have no knowledge of the last time it has been re-potted. Both are from Carter and Holmes. They sit in a North-Eastern window with the blinds drawn in 74°F temperature. The Hawkinsara is misted daily while getting adjusted to the new pot, the Paphiopedilum is watered every few days. Aside from a SUPERthrive flush on the Hawkinsara after re-potting, no fertilizer.

The first pic it shows a tiny brown spot. It also looks like a new leaf so I think it might just be mechanical damage from shipping or being bumped or something. New leaves are very tender. The third pic looks like it has a purplish pigment and I don't see anything to worry about. The third pic I can't really see anything. I wouldn't worry about them unless it gets significantly worse. If it does show us again. I think all three leaves look healthy. It's okay for an orchid to have a blemish or two. You should see my plants! I grow outside in the summer and they are not as pretty as plants grown indoors all the time. It won't hurt them. Our plants look soooo much better than wild plants! Let us know if it gets worse or spreads.

Thank you. I did some research and determined a similar thing, I'm now convinced it's nothing serious, as I read on some other forum that sometimes this can happen when a plant is trying to put out new roots, and that most Cattleyas bloom best in the kind of light that blemishes leaves, anyway. Thank you.

Hello and welcome.
I don't see anything wrong with your leaves either however, I don't believe a northwest window will be enough light for the Hawkinsara, you may want to move it to an east or south window.
