Dtps. Liu's Berry
I had posted a pic of this one in the spring project thread when it arrived as a TC for the project plant, but I think it deserves it's own thread. :)
This is a very small sized Phal (leaves are no more than 3 inches long), and so very cute. http://inlinethumb50.webshots.com/69...600x600Q85.jpg |
Wow Camille, that is so so cute
|
Yes, it is very, very cute!
|
Adorable blooms!
I just got myself Liu's Rainbow, a mini too, without blooms though. Their foliage is so small and cute. |
So cute! Well done!
|
Thanks! :) But I can't take any credit for the blooms, the plant arrived like this!
|
Beautiful. I love the shape!

Very nice! I love these tiny Phals. So adorable!

Hwa-Tung Li ( originator of grex ) has created over 30 mini-phals in over 25 years, some we haven't even seen in retail yet. The guy is amazing. His set-up must be worth seeing.
and then there is this chap/nursery: Beall Orchid Co. Inc., (Daniel S Harvey) First registration of an orchid was 1952 and last in 1996. That's 44 years ! I don't know if that's a record but according to OrchidWiz Express, he originated 884 orchids. |
I thought I saw the influence of equestris and parishii, so I ran an RHS search. Well, I was right about parishii, but no equestris here.
Doritaenopsis Liu's Berry = Dtps. Eduardo Quisumbing X P. parishii, where Dtps. Eduardo Quisumbing = P. amabilis X Doritis pulcherrima. |
