I always loved this Central American species:) ! It is showy, easy to grow and I've seen some very nice hybrids using it. The basal inflorescence is another of its uncommon characteristics. I also grow the albino variety that will be in flower soon (floral stem on its way!).

That sure is a beauty! That was one of my votes for the Project plant...
