What is the best potting media for Stanhopea Wardii? Thanks.

I used a paph mix on mine as they seem to want moisture but not soppy wet conditions, similar to paph's.

Don't know of its the best, but that was my solution. Of course I lined the basket with sphagnum.

Thanks, Paul. Mine has been alive for 2 years with no growth. I will repot it using your suggestions.

I grow many Stanhopeas, use 75% spagnum and the rest a mixture of perilite, charcoal and bark and they'll do well. Look at your growing area, if its more dry use more spag and if its high humidy use less spag and use more mixtures. good luck!

Ohhh, I had not considered humidity... Now I'm going to chew on my own set up, lol...

I've always used 100% sphagnum in a basket. Always worked great for me!
