Cattleya dichroma (Sophronitis bicolor)

The new name for this plant.
From Brazil (AWZ orchids),not sure it deserves species status, looks very much like C.coccinea , with the exception of the yellow/red veined lip. Nice plant nevertheless. |
Nice bloom. How big is the plant?

You have a beautiful flower. Unique in its own. I am sure it is as miniature as a coccinea but the flower form is totally different and the shade of red; your plant is darker red...if you look at the picture you will see the difference on the fuller round edge sepal of the coccinea that is like a fuller butterfly wing as the sepal of your flower that is pointed.
*my plant is in a 2" pot |
