Aerangis mystacidii

I got this one to keep my project plant, Aerangis luteo-alba v. rhodosticta, company. It seems to really like its new home!

Here are some shots of the flowers, which are nicely fragrant at night and smell wonderful first thing in the morning.

Beautiful. Your project plant should be real happy with this kind of companionship!

Thanks, Ross. Though this one is a true cool grower, so I'm not sure how long the rhodosticta will 'hang out' with this one. Once the temps start to drop towards the lower 50s I'll have to move the project plant.

It's a beauty...cool I could do..I'll have to add this one to my wish list.

That's really cute...what lighting does it get...and how big is the mature plant? :hmm

Nice! :) I think I should try again with aerangis orchids...

Neverend, I think you should! If it weren't for the Orchid Board Project, I would have never gotten one. But I'm so glad that I did!! :)

Todd, If you can do cool all year around - I believe the temperature in the habitat never gets above 70F! - then I would highly recommend this. The fragrance is divine - even if I can only smell it at night! :))

Sue, it says it is classed as a miniature. Mine has leaves about just under 3 inches long, making it about 6 inches wide in total. Although I don't know how old my plant is, those leaves are mature, so it won't be getting much bigger than that.

Here's a photo:

Note the black spots on the old leaves. Not sure what caused that damage, but it was like that when I got it,
all of the newer leaves are clean and in good condition, though. The newest leaf has continued to grow (its about 3x what it was when the plant arrived here) even while flowering. I've got it mounted on a cork slab.
