Searching for Dendrobium Lynne Huriuchi
Just came from the Manhattan Orchid Society meeting, there was a great talk on mounting by one of the directors and then we went to dinner. Longwood is coming up and I hope to get to it for the first time.
A newcomer to the meeting was looking for Dendrobium Lynne Huriuchi, and it seems that is in the Longwood collection, but not sure if they will part with it. I am interested in helping them get this plant, and if anyone knows of one for sale I would appreciate hearing from you, email me at ken-gibson@hotmail.com if you want. If I go I'll try to get a picture of it so I can post it here.... |
The correct spelling is Horiuchi.
There's a picture of it on the longwood gardens website. It's a fairly old hybrid, so it may be difficult to find for sale. However, there are a large number of Dendrobium bigibbum hybrids that look similar. |
Looking for den. Lynne Horiuchi
Does anyone know somewhere to get this plant? I had it once, really want to get another... it was made back in the early 1990's, no-one except Longwood seems to have one. (It was created at U. of Hawaii.) The parents were supposedly tetraploid, making it almost impossible to recreate. Anyone, please let me know. Also looking for den. DeLand's Delight.
